Sharing Islam with PK

 Sharing Islam with PK

As a viewer of the movie PK,

PK was like us Human Beings. The only difference between PK and us is PK chose his arriving and leaving on Earth but we don't choose our birth and death. We don't choose when we will born and die but PK had control over his coming to Earth.

There are many similarities between PK and us.

We are also like PK when we try to understand the Creator(God) and his Creation Plan. As PK was seeking God we also seek God in life.

In this blog, I'm going to mention some of PK's quotes from the movie and will try to address it from my Perspective.

NOTE: I'm not an expert of all the major religions of this World but whatever I know, I'll try to share with you. And without any doubt I can make mistakes making this BLOG, so correct me if I'm wrong.

1) 22:40

PK says, "Pata nahi kaun se kona me jaa kar baith gaye hain Bhagwaan"

- Here pk is looking for a physical God physical in shape but God is not in a physical form. And in Islam, the Quran describes God that he is above his throne, which is above the seven heavens.

Allah is above His seven heavens, above His 'Arsh, and separated from His creatures, and His creatures are separated from Him.

2) 28:06

PK says, "Payment wa le liya aur kaam nahi kiya hamara"

("He(God) took the payment but didn't do my work.")

Here pk is saying about the payment, to clarify that it's a common-sense: "why would God need payment from us?" It's a very strange thing to say something about God. In Islam God is self-sufficient he doesn't require anything or anyone, we require him.

Allah is self-sufficient, he doesn't need anything from us but we need everything from him.

3) 28:22

PK says, "(Taweez) reject kar diya, ab nahi pahinega"

" I rejected Taweez(Amulets)"

In this scene, pk says that he rejected amulets (taweez), and surprisingly you will come to know that Islam is against wearing amulets. The Prophet of Islam said that whoever wears an amulet he has associated partners with God(shirk). So Islam prohibits wearing amulets.

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever ties a knot and blows on it has performed magic, and whoever performs magic has committed idolatry. Whoever hangs something as a charm will be entrusted to it.”

4) 52:14

PK says, "Ye gola ke log inke banane wale ko jaan gaya tha"

"Earthlings(inhabitants of earth) have found their creator"

This is a common thing to know that there is a God and through our intellect and reasoning, we definitely find God as a source of all creation if we are sincere to ourselves. It's a logical and rational thing to believe in God. Not a blind following.

According to Islam, God is neither a material nor a spiritual being. According to Islamic teachings, beyond the Throne, and according to the Quran, "No vision can grasp Him, but His grasp is over all vision: He is above all comprehension, yet is acquainted with all things."

5) 52:19

PK says, "Unka banane wala unke saath he rehta tha"

" Their creator lives with them."

(SEE ANS. 1)

No, God does not live with us in any physical shape or form but yes by his knowledge he is with us. God is not an idol.

6) 59:20

A Christian () says,"Tumhaare paapon ke liye god sooli par latak gaya"

" God(Jesus) died for your sins."

There are many answers to address this and it is a very common thing that Christians believe in  Son of God(Jesus) died for us and our sins. Neither it is proved that Jesus Christ peace be upon him died for our sins nor it is proved that he was God or son of God. It's the followers of Jesus who believe and make a statement that Jesus Christ peace be upon him died for our sins 2000 years ago.

7) 1:03:00

PK says,"Bahut saare Bhagwaan hain, sabke alag alag rules"

"There are many Gods, all of them have different rules."

There is only one true God for everyone, as all the major religious scriptures describe him. It is the human beings and their wrong understandings that they have made false gods besides one true God.

8) 1:03:50

PK says, "Issme(bachhe) me thappa kahan hain"

"Which Company's(religion's) baby is this?"

As the Prophet of Islam said that every child is born upon fitrah that every newborn child is born in a state of fitrah(knowing that there is one god and he deserves to worship)

9) 1:04:43

PK says, "Bhagwaan hai kahan re tu?"

"Where are you God?"

As God says in the Quran that he is above his throne and he is always watching us hearing us.  he is the all-knowing and all-hearing.

10) 1:07:22

PK says, "Naam kayi, chehre kayi"

"Many names, many faces?"

There is no doubt that God has many names and attributes but all of those attributes and names that we call upon him is mentioned in the scriptures. We cannot create a new name for him whatever name we call him with is mentioned by himself.

In Islam, God is believed to have 99 Names, known as the 99 Names of God, ʾasmāʾu llāhi l-ḥusnā.

11) 1:09:27

PK says, "Geeta ka shlok padhe? bible ka verse? ya quran ka ayat?"

"What to read? Which Religion to follow?"

Follow that religion which makes sense. You don't have to blindly believe in god, you can rationally and logically believe in God but when it comes to religious practices you may not clarify everything rationally but although it can make and it makes sense in Islamic practices.

Indeed, the true religion the sight of Allah is Islam. (Quran' 3:19)

12) 1:26:53

PK says, "Saare call wrong number pe jaa rahe hain"

"All calls to God are going to a wrong number."

How can you say that all the calls to god are going in a Wrong number when you have not learned all of the religion's religious practices. You cannot speak about all the religions, you can only speak about those religions which you have understood well.

Yes there were many prophets of God came into earth and the first man God sent to this earth, Adam. He made Adam a prophet so that every people shall be guided through him and we know as Islamic teachings that there were more than 1 lakh Prophets of God came in this earth. But since their message was meant only for that group of people and only for that time, their message was time-bound .And as the Time passed, people misunderstood that message and most of the time the people misinterpreted and changed according to them that's why that's the reason we find there are many religions with many understandings.

13) 1:26:59

PK says, "Bhagwaan ulta seedha solution kyon deta hai"

"God is giving wrong solutions."

NO

In Islam, there is no such thing as 'Gulati Maro' and anything like that. We in Islam only do what God has commanded us to offer 5 daily prayers and five pillars of Islam which are namaz, Imaan, zakat, Hajj pilgrimage and fasting.

Indeed we are not created to worship Allah as an ending target, worshiping is only a mean, a path toward our ending goal.

14) 1:27:35

PK says, that GOD would say, "Mera karodo bhukha bachha ko khelao"

"Feed my millions of hungry children"

It is an obligation on every Muslim who has more than a certain amount of money that he should give zakat. And as the prophet of Islam said that the one who sleeps fulfilling his stomach while his neighbor is hungry then he is not from us.
