Seeing is Believing? | Reflections | Everyday Blog 02

Most of the questions that I had in my mind(which I mentioned in my previous blogwere related to the Afterlife, Soul, GOD's existence etc.

If you'll ask somebody, show me GOD, can he/she show you? No.

Now, I want to clarify something which you and I already agree and everyone should agree. It is that - we cannot see these(Afterlife, Soul, GOD) with our eyes directly.
But just because we cannot see them, does that mean they don't exist? What do you think?

Let's analyze this claim -
Is seeing something the only way to believe in it (that it exists)?
Or can we also believe in something without seeing it?

For this question, I would say that..
Only seeing is not believing.

We, all of us believe in things which we haven't seen.
We also believe in something through
LOGICAL REASONING and TESTIMONY, instead of Seeing.

For example...
Our Ancestors
: We believe that our ancestors, our Grandparent' grandparents, and their Grandparents; all of them existed in the past. But we haven't seen them, neither we know their name, nor we have any pictures of them. So, does that mean that we don't believe in them? Of course not.
It's a logic that for you to exist, your ancestors must have existed in the past.

This was LOGICAL REASONING.

Another is
TESTIMONY:
We also believe in Testimony i.e. believing in something that someone has testified.

Suppose you are at Work and suddenly you get a call from your Mother. She's saying:
"Son, your Father had an accident, he's injured badly and we're taking him to the Hospital, hurry up and come to the hospital."

Now, pause here for a second and think - Will you rush towards the hospital after knowing about the incident which your mom just said? But wait, you don't have any proof that your father really had an accident or not. You were not present at the time of his accident, why would you just believe in what your mom said?
Will you really think all of these questions? -No. Because You trust your Mom and she cannot joke of something serious like that. You'll just hurry up to reach the hospital immediately.
Your Mother has testified that your father had an accident. So, just because you were not present there, at the time of the event, does that mean it didn't happen? -No.

One more thing to notice here is that - if some random person has called you instead of your mother and if he informed you about this incident, then it may make sense to ask him certain questions to trust him but in case of your mother, you just believe in her because you trust her.

This happens with us many times in our daily life. We believe in something, which has been testified by others. Many events of History can also be considered in it.

We human beings hold so many weaknesses, for instance, We can't see the light of various wavelengths! We only see those lights which have wavelengths between 380nm to 740nm. Other than this range, we will never be able to see any light...
Does that mean those lights didn't exist?
-No, it's not!

Likewise, we only hear those sounds which has a range between 20Hz to 20000Hz... except this range, we can't hear any sound. Does that mean those sounds don't exist?
- Of course not.

Even we can't use our brains properly!
So with all those physical limitations how can we dare to see everything! How can we deny something just because we haven't seen it?

Even in Science, we haven't seen electron, proton, neutron (with our naked eyes) and there are many subatomic particles that are invisible to us and we believe in it easily!
But why?
- Because we observed certain events that justify the existence of those particles!

So, now we agree that we also believe in things which we cannot see.

Now, what do you think about GOD?

-Do we believe in GOD just blindly?
-Or do we have any reasons to believe in GOD?
-Is it logical/rational to believe in GOD?
-What do you think?

Let me know your thoughts...
